The Fintecna company is wholly controlled by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. After a restructuring operation in November 1993, it began activities in the construction sector along with civil and plant engineering as part of the IRI Group, taking the place of Iritecna SpA which had been closed down.
The company now operates as an experienced “service structure” specialised in managing shareholding and privatisation processes, as well as dealing with projects to rationalise and restructure companies which find themselves in critical situations from the industrial, economical-financial and organisational points of view. The aim is either to promote their re-launching on the open market, or to lead them into an efficiently managed liquidation process.
In November 2005, Fintecna acquired a shareholding in Alitalia Servizi, bringing financial resources to the newly set-up company. | | |
