THE WINTER NETWORK 2011/2012
The winter network 2011//2012
On 30 October 2011, Alitalia’s new winter schedule went into effect and will last until 24 of March 2012. The winter network includes 79 destinations between Italy and the rest of the world with 2272 weekly frequencies on 143 routes. Specifically:
Extensive coverage of the Domestic Market: 25 domestic destinations served and 1465 weekly frequencies to meet internal mobility needs thanks to a wide range of direct service between the main Italian cities towards the rest of Italy.
Efficient coverage of Foreign Markets: 54 international and intercontinental destinations served and 807 weekly frequencies, with easy connections to domestic flights.
Schedules that suit customers needs: Schedules that allow business customers to make return trips in one day from/to the main Italian and European destinations.
Close to your home: a network centered around seven hubs (Turin, Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa, Venice, Rome Fiumicino, Naples and Catania) that makes travel from the Italian provinces to the rest of the world quick and convenient.
What's new for the winter network:
• we are adding the new 100-seat Embraer E-190 and 88-seat E-175 aircraft to our fleet for short and medium haul service;
• we are continuing the modernization of our intercontinental fleet with the addition of the new Airbus A330, extending our new products "Classica Plus" and "Magnifica" to the Rome-New York Newark route and starting reconfiguration of the interiors of our 10 Boeing B777;
• we are increasing the number of weekly frequencies of our intercontinental service from Rome to Beijing and Rio de Janeiro from 4 to 5 and Rome-San Paulo from 7 to 9;
• on our international network, we are increasing the weekly frequencies of Rome-Tel Aviv service from 21 to 23 and doubling the number of flights from Turin to Amsterdam. We will continue to provide service during the winter season on the Florence-Amsterdam and Rome Fiumicino-Toulouse routes that were inaugurated this past summer; • we will begin new Alitalia service from Turin to Reggio Calabria starting in October;
• on the basis of the two-year agreement stipulated with Eden Viaggi this past July, Alitalia will operate long-haul charter flights from Italy to Dubai, Guadalupe, La Romana, Saint Maarten, Mombasa, Zanzibar and Malè starting in December, with weekly departures from Rome Fiumicino or Milan Malpensa;
• we are adding new destinations (Prague and Athens) to Air One's service from Malpensa. We will continue to develop the Smart Carrier at the Pisa hub, inaugurated this past July. | | |
