OUR BUSINESS
For the past sixty years, Alitalia has been drawing on top-quality resources and technology to fly passengers and freight all over the world.
The activities of Passenger and Cargo Division (Giancarlo Schisano) covers Core Operations (flight-related activities and ground activities), as well as Marketing and Network and Sales and Distribution. The Division includes also Purchasing and Procurement Management (Francesco Festa), which sees that the Company is provided with the goods and services it needs to carry on its business, namely everything from aircraft to airport services, fuel supplies to in-flight catering, general-expense items to safety procedures and devices.
Administration, Finance and Controls (Vittorio Mazza) is responsible for managing Alitalia's financial resources, monitoring business results and setting budget policy.
Strategic Capital Investment (Piero Ceschia) implements the Company's industrial plan and draws up its business portfolio strategy. In the process, it assesses the options for mergers, acquisitions and disposals, and handles relations with investors and financial analysts.
External Relations and Communication oversees policies designed to ensure that communications within the Group and with outside interlocutors enhance Alitalia's brand image over time. One of the department's basic tasks is to cultivate relations with public institutions, national and international authorities, stakeholders, and the media.
These areas operate in close liaison with three other Alitalia units: Human Resources (Leopoldo Luigi Conforti), which contributes to the development and continued updating of organizational arrangements, not least by managing labour relations, in line with Alitalia's business strategy; Legal Affairs and Corporate Relations (Leopoldo Luigi Conforti), which looks after assets and operations from a legal standpoint whilst ensuring that the Group's own commitments are properly fulfilled; and Auditing (Luigi Travaglione), which monitors the entire internal-controls system and submits assessments on Company operations with a view to achieving ever-greater efficiency. | | |
